Since gaining a BA (Hons) in Fine art from the Surrey institute of art and design I have become a painter, an art teacher and a mother to three rambunctious children. 

Over the years I've enjoyed experimenting with many styles of painting; from the naïve to the realistic and various techniques in between. More recently I've been creating work in a place for which I have a special affection.

Inspired by the beauty of the Purbeck coastline, and particularly Swanage (where I am fortunate enough to spend part of the year), my current work seeks to capture the landscape in both abstract and representational ways.

I aim to create work that although recognisable, gives the viewer more of an impression of the place as well as imparting a sense of the handcrafted. With this in mind, I purposely stop working on my paintings before they become too polished.
