Jacqui Fairweather is one of our ceramicists, creating a mixture of sculpture
and functional items from high-fired stoneware from her garden studio in
Wimborne, Dorset.
Having studied drawing, printing, and painting at art college in her youth,
Jacqui brings these illustrative design qualities into her ceramic works which
she discovered a love of and skill in when she moved to Dorset years later.
She uses a combination of wheel throwing, hand building, and sculpting to
create pieces inspired by nature’s shapes and colours, especially animals,
embellished with a vibrant colour palette of stains and underglazes before
glazing.
